
Cosmetics
Cosmetics are substances used to enhance the appearance or odor of the human body. Cosmetics include skin-care creams, lotions, powders, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail and toe nail polish, eye and facial makeup, towelettes, permanent waves, colored contact lenses, hair colors, hair sprays and gels, deodorants, hand sanitizer, baby products, bath oils, bubble baths, bath salts, butters and many other types of products.
In accordance with the laws of an assessment of the impact on the safety of cosmetics to human health are carried out with consideration to include toxicological, physic-chemical, microbiological stability of the ingredients and the finished product. Taking into account the particular way of contact or exposure of the skin, digestive and respiratory systems for the product is made for the toxicological assessment of finished cosmetic.
The manufacturer or person responsible for placing the cosmetic on the market is legally responsible for the formal report of the safety assessment. The report includes the following information:
- assessment of exposure or other exposure assessment,
- risk assessment for cosmetic ingredients,
- assessment of conformity of the product composition with the law,
- toxicological assessment of cosmetic ingredients,
- evaluation results of the finished cosmetic product: microbiological purity, stabilized state and physicochemical properties of dermatology in the case of the function declared on the label.
